Fat Tuesday

Today is the big party day for Carnival here. We’ve seen some prep happening, but it hasn’t seemed as loud as I remember it last year. Maybe I’m just learning to tune things out now :)

Chris and I headed down to Wahoo Bay to hang out with Troy and Tara for the afternoon. It was nice to just talk and relax. They left their two oldest girls at home to enjoy the peace and quiet. Issac, Hope and Jack- Jack (actually it’s Noah, but everyone calls him Jack most of the time) had fun hanging out in the water and playing with a crab that I believe ended up in a water bottle in the truck for the ride home…

Jack-Jack the superhero.

Lil’ Miss Hope.

Fun with crabs.

Wahoo Bay.

Chris isn’t cranky – he was checking out hiking opportunities on the mountains.

I’ve had this weird itch thing on my face for the last few days. I’m trying not to touch it right now because scratching will drive me crazy. I think I may have some sort of allergy to the new sunscreen that I bought. The dumb thing is that I’ve had problems with regular sunscreen on my face, so I bought stuff for specifically for the face and again with the problems. “Oiye!” as my mother would say.

About Leslie

I'm Leslie. Wife. Mother. Missionary. In the day to day my husband and I are responsible for running Clean Water for Haiti, a humanitarian mission that builds and distributes water filters to Haitian families. Living in Haiti full time provides lots of stories, and as I tell my husband, our grandkids probably won't believe most of them. Maybe writing them down will give me some credibility.
