Pictures of the Deluge

Finally! Here are some pictures of the BIG event.
The grass peeking out of the mud. In this area it’s only about 1/2 inch thick.

The washout in front of our beach gate.

Digging the trench for the power lines. In the background you can see the guys digging out the filter yard.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mother in law for reminding me that all of the neighbors poop washed down through our yard. Thanks. Thanks for that. Because just plain mud isn’t bad enough ;)
All is good now. The lines have been replaced. The mud is drying out. We made some progress on getting stuff ready to pour the foundation on the dorms. And, we were finally able to rescue the truck from it’s parking spot on the old dorm floor. All in all not a bad day.

About Leslie

I'm Leslie. Wife. Mother. Missionary. In the day to day my husband and I are responsible for running Clean Water for Haiti, a humanitarian mission that builds and distributes water filters to Haitian families. Living in Haiti full time provides lots of stories, and as I tell my husband, our grandkids probably won't believe most of them. Maybe writing them down will give me some credibility.
