December (so far) in pictures

I know that some family members (Hi Gramma and Grandad!) are wishing they could be watching the wee wonder enjoying her time in Canada, and because those family members that are present are harassing me to get pictures on the blog that it’s probably time to do just that! So, without further ado, here is our month of December in pictures.

We started the month off celebrating some birthdays, so of course there were birthday presents to wrap. Nanna *may* have passed on her love of Scotch tape to someone else...

Looking guilty...

I think the gingersnaps passed the test.

We were gifted a few nights up at a friends condo on Silver Star, the local ski hill. There were some snow angels made...

...and some snow shoeing was done. Though, the youngest member of our party was hear repeatedly saying, "I want to go home! I want to go home!" and when she felt that her needs were being ignored was intentional about rolling off the sled and lying in a heap in the snow in protest.

Some ducks were chased...

... and jackets repeatedly done up and mittens tucked in.

Some sliding was done...

... and some family dinners have been had.

Christmas presents have been wrapped.

We've gone skating at the nice new arena and there was only falling by one little person with no damage. In fact, frequently someone's legs would go out from under her and when I asked why she said, "Because I'm just dancing!"

There was a Christmas party at school where crafts were done...

... and Daddy played Christmas songs, followed by a repeat playing of "The Cat Came Back" at the request of his under 5 fan base.

The Christmas tree was picked out and decorated with much enthusiasm from all parties.

A gingerbread house was decorated and there was icing on most visible surfaces.

The finished masterpiece. All members of the household have been fair warned to avoid any candy with a visible moisture trail behind it...

The weekend wrapped up with the annual Armstrong/Spallumcheen Fire Department Santa parade through town.

We ran out to see Santa on the antique fire truck, and to collect a goody bag. This is one of those things that I love about Armstrong.

The evening ended with a visit to Bethlehem, aka "Night In Bethlehem" put on by my parents church. There were shepherds and sheep, a donkey, a baby Jesus, wood workers, soap sellers, and all sorts of other interesting things to see. The great thing is that even though it's hosted at a church, the community city counsel does a big push encouraging people to come out and see it every year because they consider it a great addition to the community Christmas events.

About Leslie

I'm Leslie. Wife. Mother. Missionary. In the day to day my husband and I are responsible for running Clean Water for Haiti, a humanitarian mission that builds and distributes water filters to Haitian families. Living in Haiti full time provides lots of stories, and as I tell my husband, our grandkids probably won't believe most of them. Maybe writing them down will give me some credibility.

  1. these photos made me laugh! Thanks Leslie! Give that sweet little granddaughter of mine a big hug (and another one for that guitar-playing son of mine).
